France is the Group’s third largest market in terms of sales and all four business areas are represented in the country.
SCA’s TENA incontinence care brand is the market leader in the country and the Nana brand holds a no. 3 position in the feminine care segment. The company also holds a strong position in the Away-From-Home tissue segment.
SCA Packaging has got 13 production plants in France. The acquisition of the French packaging company Nicollet in 1999 added valuable expertise in the high-quality print consumer packaging segment.
SCA Graphic Paper sells pulp and paper products to some of France’s largest publishers, printers and advertising agencies. Through its sales company SCA Timber France and distribution facilities in Rochefort and Fécamp SCA supplies solid wood products to the French market.
History
SCA entered the French corrugated board market in 1961. In 1975, SCA acquired the Swedish company Mölnlycke and thereby achieved a position in the hygiene products market in France.
In 1996 SCA acquired Apura, a producer of AFH products, and in 1998 CPROP, a distributor chain for incontinence products. Acquistion of the French packaging company Nicollet in 1999.
